The Heart Behind the Song

I belong to Him.
Always have.

When I say, “he tried to dispose of me,” I’m speaking about something that happened in my life. People I once called friends set me up and left me for dead in a graveyard. I survived, but I carried so much anger over what they had done.

I knew God was in control. I put it in His hands, and He took care of me. Looking back, I can see that even when I thought I was fighting alone, I wasn’t. God went to war for me. I made it by His grace.

“I thought I fought him all alone
Found I wasn’t on my own.”

“I belong to Him. Always have.” doesn’t mean I always lived like it. There was a time when lust, greed, fear, and lies helped lead my life. This song is my testimony of coming out of that darkness and submitting myself to God. My freedom rests in Jesus and the sacrifice He made on the cross.

And this isn’t a claim that I’m perfect now. I still need His grace. Following Christ means renewing my mind, dying to my old ways daily, and choosing Him when the battle gets hard. The Gospel is serious to me. Lifting His name isn’t a gimmick or a chase for fame—it’s the mission I’m willing to give my life to.

That’s the heart of this record: I thought the enemy had the final say. But I’m still here, alive for the King. My prayer is that you hear this and know you can turn to Jesus, too.
